ABOUT THE ALBUM

Undertale: Strings of Determination is an officially licensed massive four-volume cover album celebrating the music of Toby Fox’s Undertale which is celebrating its second anniversary. In an impressive short span of just two years, the game’s soundtrack has become modern classics in the video game world.

The album features the iconic songs and pieces from the Undertale OST such as “MEGALOVANIA”, “Hopes and Dreams”, “Your Best Nightmare” and “ASGORE”, but remade with solid electric violin melodies, pounding guitar riffs, ethereal vocal atmospheres, synths and drums to complete the set. There is also a special acapella rendition of “Temmie Village” with special guest artist Tera Catallo aka TeraCMusic from Youtube.

Undertale: Strings of Determination is available in Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon and other digital retailers. Released under the Materia Collective label.

WHAT'S NEW

The album includes all 42 songs from the standalone "Strings of Determination" Volumes 1-4 but also with 4 new songs not available elsewhere including "It's Raining Somewhere Else" and "Bird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap".

All pre-existing tracks from the old volumes have been remastered and optimized for a better listening experience.

THE STORY

"Strings of Determination" is a story of a dad and his daughter's love for Undertale and its quirky characters. It is about the power of the violin, guitar and a cacophony of other instruments in giving a heartfelt musical tribute to the world created by Toby Fox.

Taking more than a year to finish, Diwa de Leon (String Player Gamer on Youtube) and his daughter Kaya worked together to make this behemoth four-volume, 40+ song album a reality.

The album’s inlay booklet features the artworks of Kaya. Her reinterpretations of beloved characters from Undertale.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Arranger, Performer, and Producer

String Player Gamer (aka Diwa de Leon) discovered video games with the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES. It ignited a passion that will define the rest of his life. After finishing Music Composition in College with his family’s encouragement, he combined his love of music with his passion for games. A combination which seems to be inherited by his daughter Kaya.

Inlay Booklet Artist & Designer

Kaya de Leon is mostly a self-taught artist and like her dad, a passionate gamer who loves Undertale, Pokémon, animé and Hamilton. She is currently a high school student and has begun taking violin lessons.

Vocals on Temmie Village

Tera Catallo (TeraCMusic) is a violinist, vocalist, and pianist on YouTube. She makes covers of tracks from video games, animes, and more. She recently graduated with a B.A. in Music. She enjoys adding her own style to her covers and she strives to earn a living off of her music. Her inspirations include: Nobuo Uematsu, Two Steps from Hell, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Koji Kondo. She is also constantly inspired by the VGM community on YouTube.
